Cecilia & Dave’s wedding at Essex House was full of small personal touches. They met while they were working as pages at NBC – we did their engagement shoot at 30 Rock incorporating NBC, which was really fun. Their rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding was at the skating rink at Rockefeller Plaza, too.
The ribbon wrap on Cecilia’s flowers had buttons from her maternal grandmother’s wedding dress, and she had a piece of a handkerchief from her paternal grandmother sewn into the inside of her wedding dress (something old).
She was wearing earrings from her aunt (something borrowed), and a garter from a close family friend overseas (something blue). She also had a medal from her late grandmother that her aunt pinned to the inside of her dress.
The Essex House is across the street from Central Park. It was a really beautiful, hot day, and were able to get to the park for a few portraits with the two of them without making anyone uncomfortable in the heat. The Essex House just has a really sophisticated NY feel to it.
Cecilia & Dave’s wedding had such a sense of joy and play and fun, and their friends and family were loving it. Their wedding band played Simon & Garfunkel’s “Cecilia,” and everyone sang it and she was in the middle of the dance floor and it was so awesome. They loved it. She loved it. And that moment to me was the essence of their whole wedding day. It was just wonderful.
